At around 9 am today (13th), the police received a report from a money changer at 40 Shing Fong Street, Kwai Chung, saying that 3 teenagers came to the store with hammers to demand money. After the police arrived at the scene to investigate, it was believed that the 3 people had earlier come to the money changer to knock on the counter and glass window with hammers, claiming to help people get money; the staff refused to comply, and the suspects eventually fled towards the Kwai Chung Plaza footbridge.

After learning of the incident, plainclothes police officers nearby launched a manhunt and successfully intercepted and arrested 3 teenagers involved in the case (13, 14 and 15 years old) on the footbridge; and then arrested a 13-year-old girl involved in the case in Sheung Shui District. All 4 people were suspected of "attempting robbery". All of them are being detained, and the case has been handed over to the New Territories South Regional Crime Unit for follow-up. According to sources, the four were friends, and the three arrested teenagers were students who received instructions to commit the crime; the police are investigating the role of the arrested girl in the case.
